Making a quilt back with a colourful scrappy border for the alphabet quilt. Wanted to revisit this method of using strips and use up some small but colourful remaining pieces of fabric in my stash.
I finished at the end of May, but my last prayer cloth post brought so much stress because of abuse from , I decided I'm not going to post my finished prayer cloths to groups anymore.

yesterday i learned that DIAPER also refers to a type of patterning in ornamentation! originally it was a specific type of weave pattern, one that makes a diamond pattern in the fabric -- this is where the baby diapers get the name, as it's apparently a very absorbent fabric

It's pretty rare to see a sampler made by a boy & it's pretty rare to see a sampler made in Australia. It's even rarer to see a sampler that's both. Thomas Rice made this in South Australia in the 19th century. It was sold a few days ago at auction.
