rust on linen and cottonFor several years Ive experimented with different materials - dyeing, printing, rusting, stitching - just to see whats possible. As I learn new things I combine them to get more depth and texture. The grayish fabric underneath was dyed with acorns and then modified with iron to deepen the color. The fabric on top was folded then rusted.

Textile experts & historians, this is probably a hopeless cause, but I'm wondering if it's possible to identify the pattern used on this 1970s tiger/lion.
The fabric is cotton & my mum remembers that it was bought at a church sale in Southampton. She thought handmade by parishioners, but it did have a label that has fragmented from years of love.
I don't expect to get the same fabric again, but I love the design and would love to see what the whole fabric looked like
