Everything to know about Fabric and Textiles

My brain is so fizzy with inspiration. I don't know if it's stuff or not but I suddenly have realised how a couple of things I'm doing have joined up to become a new creative idea. It's still really early stages but the I'm desperate to get cracking. I've had to order some materials and there will be pictures. I've very excited. Sorry for the vagueness - it's not deliberate I'm just trying to figure out the right words. The pictures will hopefully help.

Oh boy, it's been a busy few days! Last week I taught a beginners course in how to identify textiles in collections, and today I've delivered a similar training session on how to ID plastics.

My brain feels like it might be full of ONLY knowledge about polymers and fibre types now.

Why I've been quiet about this for the moment: the painting hasn't gone well.

1. I live in a country where the winters are long and it never stops raining. Some days it's been too cold to paint and I can't paint indoors because of the fumes.
2. I thought spraying wood would be like spraying metal. It's not, wood bleed is a thing.
3. I was not happy with the direction things were going, so I decided to start over with the paint.
4. I should have done more research and prep.
5. I was rushing.

So I took some time, watched some furniture tutorials and researched what to use. Bought some Zinsser cover stain primer and a tin of matt black Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch and I've started again traditionally.

Appeal: does anyone have any juicy photos of museum/collection textiles that I may use in a training session (With credit, obviously.)

I'm after:
packed/stored textiles (stored well or poorly, your choice!)
examples of different types of historic and modern textiles
examples of damage to textiles (stains, tears, pest nibbles, anything!)
identified fibres under a microscope

Grateful for boosts! :boostok:
