Everything you need to know about Textiles

The goldenrod is really busting out the blooms in MS now. So I busted thru the brush and braved the ticks & chiggers to collect enough to dye a yard of cotton fabric. Steeped the flower tops overnight. A 15 minute soak the next morning produced this screaming yellow.

Also, this is your friendly reminder that its not goldenrod, an important pollinator plant, thats causing allergies in the US. Its ragweed, which is all green & blooms at the same time.

teaching myself naalbinding earlier this year. Im still really bad at it, but I enjoy it. I love that textiles create such a powerful connection to the past for me. It gives me connection and context that I feel so alienated from in daily life.

"...While who wore it is uncertain, how it ended up in the bogwhere anoxic conditions preserved itis a bigger mystery. The really intriguing question, apart from who it belonged to, was what were the circumstances that led to it It wasnt just dropped, he says. Its obviously a deliberate act. Was it sacrificial Was it murder Was it ceremonial All of those things are open to question because there are no other elements associated with the find that can help us with that.

I'm thinking about doing a September-through-end-of-the-year 20 sale on the Artisans Cooperative storefront. (US and Canada only right now.) Every item 20 + shipping, no exceptions.

This is an UNREASONABLY LOW PRICE for all but two listings, but I've got my reasoning. Hear me out.

I've been pretty ambitious with the things I've made for the shop. They are necessarily pretty expensive, because they take so much labor. The result is most of what I've precreated hasn't been bought, and I feel discouraged to amass more inventory for fear of physically running out of space where I live right now.

In addition to that, my membership with the Artisans Coop isn't fully paid off yet, and I have a couple months left to do so. Each sale boosts points toward my membership, so it's in my best interest to sell a number of items via the AC as soon as possible.

If I can get everything sold by the end of the year, even if I'm making pennies per hour as a result, I could have verified sales, a paid off AC membership, and more space to expand my inventory.

If you're interested in taking advantage of this sale, please let me know and I'll reach out to you when it starts! Here are my listings for reference:
